ABOUT BALINTAWAK CANADA
For the last 15 years, my journey of thousands miles to find that ideal teacher, that suitable system and its lineage had been so fascinating but very costly. Our Filipino Martial Arts are so amazing and diverse. Despite many options, I decided to solely focus on single stick discipline of Teovel's Balintawak System.
With limited means and time, I started teaching Balintawak with few students, at the Veteran’s park in our little town of Ajax, around 30 km, east side of Toronto, in the province of Ontario, Canada.
After two years of teaching and building our small Balintawak group, I met Guro Kris Soco, our expert in hand to hand combat and bladed weapons. Like me, we are the living byproduct of our past masters’ unique methodology and formative trainings. Deep in our veins and consciousness, we are Cebuanos. By our contribution to this generation, we will pay homage to the brilliance of our forefathers in crafting this unique well rounded close quarter combat system and style of martial arts.

- Be brilliant on your basics (Improve your forms, artful ways of hitting, footworks, modular approach of teaching in 5 groupings, drills flow, creative combinations, and more...
- Enhance your coordination skills, and, by repetition, develop memory retention
- Management of distance, or sense of proximity (short, mid, and long range)
- Improve your balance (60/40, 40/60) and footworks (like reverse triangle concept, etc)
- In one roof, it's a great opportunity to learn Aikido, a japanese martial arts with centuries of rich tradition.
